Connections
In 1816 Hester married Howe Brown, Marquis of Sligo, whose widowed mother Catherine had in 1813 married Sir William Scott of Stowell, an English judge. He seems to have been a friend to the Scottish Episcopal Church because William Forbes's father had a useful correspondence with him around 1800 about Daniel Sandford's union with the Scottish Episcopal Church and legal issues around clergymen with livings in England who wished to follow his example.
