John Keith

John Keith's life, like that of David Hume's son, was cut tragically short as he was 'just entering life'. Yet as a fourth, rather than an only son, his death was not an object of public interest as Joseph Hume's was. It must have been a severe shock to the congregation of Charlotte Chapel: like John and Charlotte Elphinstone, he was connected to many other members of the Chapel, and like them the cause of his death is one of the few to be noted in the funeral register.
