Lees, Berwickshire, an estate in the Tweed valley subject to flooding, as the Statistical Account recorded:
The only part of this parish subject to inundations is the Lees haugh, which is situated between the house of Mr Marjoribanks of Lees and Cornhill... The greatest land-flood remembered by the oldest people then alive, happened in May 1783. (4)
